University of Texas Longhorn Network

The Longhorn Network television station, a joint venture of ESPN and the University of Texas, is a cable channel devoted to round-the-clock coverage of University of Texas Longhorn sports that made its debut on Friday, August 26, 2011. The University of Texas Longhorn Network will cover all sports at UT and will broadcast over 200 live events every year. The Longhorn Network is not currently part of the Time Warner cable service in the Austin area. The Longhorn Network is now carried on AT&T U-verse on Channel 609 and 1609 HD, Grande Communications, Verizon FiOS and a few other small cable carriers.

Your News Now (formerly known as News 8 Austin) is a 24-hour cable television news-station owned by Time Warner Cable and is only available to subscribers of Time Warner Cable in Austin and the Central Texas area. Your News Now (YNN) utilizes a wheel format offering pre-recorded blocks of news, features, community events and weather that are updated throughout the day as new stories are filed and or additional information becomes available. Weather segments air every 10 minutes “On The Eights.” YNN reporters or video journalists as they are sometimes referred to often set up, shoot and edit their own stories without the assistance of a camera man.
