January Annual Events In Austin

The 3M Half Marathon is Austin's second longest distance road racing event and is One of the largest stand-alone half marathons in Texas. The 3M Half Marathon is just over 13 miles on a north-to-south course through an urban setting and is mostly downhill. The half marathon is geared to intermediate runners. Besides the half marathon, there is also the half marathon relay, which is the same distance split between two runners and runers who are fairly new to endurance running may prefer the half marathon relay. The 3M Half Marathon and Relay also features a Kids Fun Run, which is a 50-yard non-competitive run for children ages 10 and under.There is entertainment and medical support along the course and food is provided at the finish line. The goodie bag for the 3M Half Marathon comes loaded with popular 3M products like Scotch tape‚ Post-it pads‚ insect repellent‚ lint rollers and bandages and was named Named “Best Schwag” by Runner’s World Magazine. There is also return bus transport available from the finish to the start upon completion. The 2013 date for the 3M Half Marathon is Sunday, January 13, 2013.
